<<Update at bottom>>OK-girls- help me out... (warning- I'm long winded)

Here's the story.

DH and I (well, mostly I) were planning on waiting til the fall to TTC. I was on the nuvaring and decided to stop using it for the next few months to let my cycles regulate.

I took out the ring on 6/14, got my "period" on 6/16 or 17 and it ended on 6/20 (I was bleeding a little on 6/20- nothing on 6/21)

During this time we were visiting a friend in Florida who has 4 children- including an infant. I began to feel a little baby crazy and wasn't thinking much when we had sex on 6/21 and 6/22 (normally I would have put the ring back in on 6/21 but I never refilled the Rx).

So, we came home from our visit I was fine for a few days. Then, that wednesday (6/25) I had a huge Iced Coffee and dinner with my mom where we discussed some of my feelings regarding TTC (see my past posts on this board). That night I started FREAKING OUT thinking I'm NOT ready for this at all.

I have a history of generalized anxiety disorder all it takes is one little worry to set it off at times- this is one of those times. I think the major shot of caffeine in the Iced Coffee may have rattled my already fragile nerves (those with Anxiety/Panic disorders are supposed to avoid caffeine).

So, I've been worried that I may have gone and gotten myself PG before I'm actually ready. I've been testing- so far BFN- but I've also been feeling tired, and some twinges of pain in my boob.

Since I just stopped the BC I have no idea when or if I've ovulated or when my next period will be.

Please help me ease my fears. I know that if I am PG I'll deal with it- but I'm freaking out about EVERYTHING at the moment- once the anxiety starts, things start to snowball. I'm worried about myself, my parent's realtionship and health (both are pretty much fine at the moment), my relationship with DH, my grandmother being sick (she has a cold), etc. etc. etc. Things that I would normally be able to handle if I were in my right state of mind.

Would I have already tested + if I could have gotten pregnant?? I've been using FRER.

If you got this far- I'm impressed.

Please, ladies, enlighten me with your words of wisdom.

ETA: If it didn't happen this month- I think I'm going to be putting it off longer than a few more months! Obviously- this isn't the reaction I should be having if I was so ready!

No, I doubt your PG. You were only on like CD7 when you had sex. Your AF probably isnt due for like another week and a half so it is too early to test.

I TESTED POSITIVE 26 days after the 1st day of my last period. I do not know anything about how long it takes to regulate after the ring. good luck, keep us posted.

I doubt you're PG too. Maybe bc you are so anxious it will bring AF on early or delay it a little. I would try to relax and not think about it.

Was this your first cycle after BC? When did you BD to get the positive?

We only had unprotected sex those 2 dates- we've been using condoms since then.

I was on NuvaRing for 3 years, I know things are differnent for everyone, but with me my body went back to my regular schedule right after coming off the ring.

Did you have very short cycles before you went on the ring? The average woman ovulates around CD 14; CD 7 or 8 would be very early to ovulate and would indicate that you generally have a 21 or 22 day cycle (instead of the average 28)

Try to relax, I think it is pretty unlikely that you are PG.

I agree with the above posters...I don't think your PG...

as for the anxiety I know exactly how you feel. Some days I'm so happy and excited about TTC and others it scared the HELL out of me! I know the snowball effect you're talking about well.

Feel free to FM if you want/need to talk about anything.

I doubt you are PG, so don't worry (I know easier said then done!)

Know this, when I had DD I wasn't married, stable or ready (so I thought) but as it turns out I was ready and so far I have raised a beautiful and amazingly smart little girl. There have been good days and bad, but the good outweigh the bad by thousands!

You will be a great mom, whether it's now or later. Breathe relax, and focus on other things!Chat Icon

I doubt your pregnant. If your period ended on 6/20 and you BD'd on 6/21 and 6/22, it's highly unlikely you are pregnant.

Small update...tests are still BFN (thank goodness)

AND I'm going to my doctors today (psychologist and MD and I have a call into my Gyn). I think it's time for me to go back on some meds to help deal with my anxiety disorder. Chat Icon Chat Icon
